Ronaldo receives a painful blow from Portugal

Cristiano Ronaldo, the Manchester United forward, suffered another setback in the summer Mercato as Sporting Lisbon refused to accept him.
The British daily The Times blew out with a thunderous surprise when it announced that Sporting Lisbon’s coach, Portuguese Ruben Amorim, rejects the notion of signing Ronaldo this summer.

Robin Amorim feels that acquiring the Manchester United striker will cost the squad the structure it has developed since assuming technical leadership in 2020.
The story did not end there, as the publication said that Amorim threatened to retire as the team’s technical director if the club’s administration insisted on signing Cristiano Ronaldo.

According to press sources, Sporting Lisbon is the latest team to reject to include Cristiano Ronaldo in the current summer Mercato, following numerous clubs, most notably Chelsea and Bayern Munich.
Ronaldo wishes to leave Manchester United during the current summer transfer window, as the English club will not compete in the next Champions League.

The Portuguese star’s name has been connected with various Champions League teams, most recently Sporting Lisbon, where he began his football career nearly 20 years ago, as well as the Italian Napoli.

Portugal delivers a stinging blow to Ronaldo.
