The city of Novaya Kakhovka and the nearby hydropower station in the province were damaged by a missile strike by Kiev forces, according to the government of the southern Ukrainian province of Kherson, which has been liberated.
According to Vladimir Leontiev, the mayor of Kakhovka in the Kherson region, the effects are expected to be devastating, and it is currently difficult to escape the city due to intense bombs and violent explosions that have been heard.
He continued, “We see fires there, and work is underway to assess the extent of the destruction. Shells fell on the city and in the vicinity of the hydropower station.
He emphasised how difficult the situation is in the city because the water and electricity are shut off.
Missiles are fired toward Novaya Kakhovka by Kiev forces.
