According to the Tunisian presidency, President Kais Saied met with US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, Barbara Leaf, on Tuesday in the Carthage Palace.
The discussion focused on the evolution of bilateral ties between Tunisia and the United States, and Kais Saied discussed numerous problems pertaining to Tunisia’s current course.
According to the president, Said rejected charges advanced by parties, which he defined as information, while reaffirming Tunisia’s sovereignty and reluctance to engage in its internal affairs.
The summit examined Tunisia’s economic and social situations, as well as the role that the international community may play in assisting the country in overcoming its troubles.
According to Kais Saied, the international community must play its full role in assisting in the recovery of the plundered monies for the Tunisian people.
Kais Saied is dissatisfied with US officials’ views towards Tunisia.
