According to a local Libyan daily, the commander of the Libyan National Force, Khalifa Haftar, the army was not established to watch individuals he termed misbelievers drive the country into the abyss.

Haftar stated that Libyan sacrifices were never made in order for one of the corrupt to live a life of luxury with public money while the honourable citizen lived below the poverty line, and that the people and the army should remedy the situation before it is too late, and work together as one hand capable of destroying what he called idols. Politicians.

Haftar also urged national forces to reorganise and mobilise their diaspora in order to swing the balances in favour of the people.
On the other side, the African Union Commission Chairperson, Moussa Faki, voiced alarm over the violent battles in Libya’s capital, Tripoli.

In a statement, the Union urged all parties in Libya to immediately halt hostilities, respect civilian safety, and collaborate to establish peace and stability throughout the nation.
Clashes between Libyan militias erupted in the capital two days earlier, killing and injuring hundreds.

Meanwhile, Abdel Hamid Dabaiba, Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, and Fathi Bashagha, Prime Minister of the Libyan government established by Parliament, have accused the country of military escalation and accepted responsibility for the commencement of the armed confrontation.
These violent encounters shed light on the western region’s military divide.
