The US Department of Transportation reported recent cancellations of American Airlines, Delta Airlines, and United Airlines flights owing to Covid-19 infections.
According to Liu Pengyu, a spokeswoman for the Chinese embassy in Washington, the US Department of Transportation’s action was entirely reckless and unfoundedly banned Chinese flights.
According to the embassy, China’s COVID-19 prevention measures are fair and transparent, apply to both Chinese and international airlines, and are in accordance with bilateral air transport agreements.
