Adviser to the Palestinian Presidency’s Office for Jerusalem Affairs Ahmed Al-Ruwaidi confirmed today, Tuesday, that clear instructions were issued by President Mahmoud Abbas to all official and national authorities, to take all steps at the popular, legal and diplomatic levels to protect the educational process in Jerusalem, and protect it from Israeli attempts to ignore Palestinian youth in Jerusalem. The Holy City, with its history, narrative, and civilization with Arab roots, with its Islamic-Christian dimension.
Al-Ruwaidi said, in a press statement, “It is necessary to unify the tools of Jerusalem work at one table in order to take the practical steps necessary to protect education in Jerusalem, discuss all its problems, and translate the unified Jerusalem decision that was taken to reject the fake curriculum that the occupation is trying to impose on some private schools as a prelude. To impose it later on all Jerusalem educational institutions.
He added, “From here, everyone responded to the invitation of the Jerusalem Governorate and the National Work Authority, in the presence of the polygon of protecting education, represented by: the official body, the Palestinian Ministry of Education, and the Palestinian Teachers Union, in addition to the parents’ committees in the various Jerusalem schools and the national component, represented by the national forces. And official and religious figures in Jerusalem, which was important, to announce practical steps related to confronting the Judaization of education on the ground, and to take steps that unify legal action, within a single legal vision that reflects that Jerusalem is occupied, and that the occupation has no authority to impose its curriculum and laws in the occupied area and our people.”
Al-Ruwaidi made it clear that the Palestinians will triumph with their will and steadfastness over all attempts to falsify history and to make the people of Jerusalem ignorant of their national identity.
