US Navy warships Using social media
The Taiwan Strait was traversed by two US warships on Sunday, according to the US Navy. This was the first such passage since China conducted extensive military exercises close to the island.
The Navy claims that the passage of the two ships shows American commitment to an open and free Indo-Pacific.
The US Navy cruisers Chancellorsville and Antietam are now conducting the transit, according to the authorities who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
Beijing has grown increasingly irate as US warships and those of allies like the United Kingdom and Canada often pass through the strait.
Early in August, after Pelosis’ visit to Taiwan, China began conducting military exercises all surrounding the island.
China was furious with the US House Speaker’s trip because they saw it as an American attempt to interfere with Chinese internal affairs.
