Russia’s Kasatkina is the Champion of the Granby Tournament

The $250,000 Canadian Granby Tennis Championships were won by ninth-ranked Russian Daria Kasatkina, who defeated Australian Daria Savile 6-4, 6-4 in the final.
The Russian has defeated the 73rd-ranked Savil three times in three encounters. It should be mentioned that Savil was participating in her sixth WTA Tour Championships final, but her first since Hong Kong in October 2017 due to an Achilles tendon surgery that sidelined her for a year.

Daria Kasatkina won the first-ever Granby Championships after defeating longtime friend Daria Saville 6-4, 6-4! Dasha has reclaimed third place on the Race to the WTA Finals scoreboard after winning her second title of the month!
Kasatkina, 25, earned her sixth professional championship and second this year after winning the San Jose event earlier this month.

The US Open, the fourth Grand Slam tennis competition, begins on Monday. Kasatkina will face Britain’s Harriet Dart, who is ranked 98th in the world, in the opening round.
