New military aid from Britain to Ukraine

As part of his visit to Ukraine’s capital city of Kyiv, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson met with Ukrainian President Zelensky. (Reuters) Britain has said it will provide Ukraine with six underwater drones to help it clear Russian mines off its coast and train Ukrainian soldiers to use them.

These small, autonomous devices, which can operate up to 100 metres below sea level, were created for usage in shallow coastal areas, the defence ministry said. They are used to find and identify mines so that the Ukrainian Navy can destroy them.
Numerous members of the Ukrainian Navy will receive training in the use of these drones in the upcoming months, the ministry said.
They’ve already started their first group’s training.

The United States and the United Kingdom will deliver the training.
The British Ministry of Defense claims that by harming Ukrainian agriculture and enforcing a blockade on its Black Sea ports to prevent exports, Russia is weaponizing food.

According to Britain, despite some grain-carrying ships being allowed to leave Ukraine in accordance with the terms of the UN agreement, these operations are nevertheless restricted by the underwater mines that Russian soldiers planted near the nation’s coast.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson proposed a 300 million (355 million) military and humanitarian aid package for Ukraine in May, following a 450 million proposal that included missiles.
