Instead, they strengthened their squad by bringing in players like Englishmen Calvin Phillips and Sergio Gomez, Norwegian striker Erling Haaland, and Argentine Julian Alvarez, who had been on loan to River Plate since the previous winter transfer window.

And Manchester City spent the least amount in recent years on the main summer transfer market—104 million pounds—during the current transfer window.
And the newspaper noted that since the start of the year, City has made more than 250 million pounds from the sales of its players, most notably the English Raheem Sterling to Chelsea, the Brazilian tandem Gabriel Jesus, and the Ukrainian Oleksandr Zinchenko to Arsenal.In order to strengthen the squad’s ranks with new players, the team administration decided to allocate Pep Guardiola a budget of £100 million to participate in the upcoming winter transfer market, according to the publication.
