Austria: Demands to raise taxes on energy companies and the government pays a high subsidy

The Austrian government will begin disbursing a reward for a one-time cost allowance of 500 euros for an adult and 250 euros for a kid on September 1st of next year.
And, according to government sources, the award was authorised by the Austrian Parliament today, Sunday, and was accepted by all parties, with the goal of assisting households facing high costs and high electricity and gas prices and bills, as well as encouraging measures to battle climate change.

According to the Austrian Trade Union Confederation, energy firms are presently making massive profits as a result of the Ukraine war, while rising energy costs are a significant burden on the populace.
The statement urged the government to levy greater taxes on excess profits made by energy investors and operators, stressing that a total of 1.5 to 2. 2 billion euros should be made available yearly to support anti-inflationary measures.
