An illegal immigration boat carrying 27 Egyptians sank off the coast of Libya

An illegal immigration boat sunk in the Mediterranean carrying 27 Egyptians bound for Italy, according to Libyan officials.
According to her, the boat sank close to the eastern shore of the Tolmitha area, where six of the 21 young guys on board were found. The other 21 men are still missing, and authorities are still looking for them.

The 444th Brigade of the Libyan army announced a fight in the city of Bani Walid on Saturday after storming a hideout used by one of the outlaw gangs for kidnapping and torture, noting that 5 of the kidnapped Egyptians were liberated. Libyan authorities freed 5 Egyptians who had been kidnapped by the illegal immigration mafia in Libya a day earlier.

Investigations reveal that the five Egyptians were kidnapped while their route to work with the goal of holding their families for ransom in exchange for their release. Libyan authorities later treated them at Bani Walid Hospital.
The practise of abducting Egyptians in Libya and holding their families hostage for a ransom has recently become more widespread, despite the Egyptian Foreign Ministry’s repeated appeals to avoid illegal immigration and travel to Libya owing to the unstable security situation there.
