Lavrov expresses Russia’s readiness to strengthen relations with OIC countries

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov emphasised Russia’s willingness to strengthen ties with OIC members while reiterating that Russia does not tolerate attempts by the West to isolate countries that uphold their sovereignty.

According to the news channel Russia Today, relations between Russia and the Organization of the Islamic Conference and its member states are gaining momentum. We are prepared to expand our cooperation with them on the basis of equality, mutual benefit, respect for cultural and civilizational identity, and the right to choose one’s own development path.

We oppose the West’s extensive imposition of its phoney values, as well as its efforts to isolate and create alliances and blocs against countries that uphold their sovereignty.
According to the Russian Foreign Minister, the decision to conduct the symposium in a Russian city shows how diverse Russia’s relationships with OIC members are as well as how widely supported this partnership is around the world.

Lavrov declares that Russia is willing to improve ties with OIC nations.
