European Union: Serbia will allow Kosovar citizens to enter the country with personal identification cards

Serbia would permit Kosovar nationals to enter the country using personal identification cards supplied by the Pristina administration, according to Josep Borrell, the head of the European Union’s foreign policy, who made the announcement on Saturday.
The changes will address a portion of the disagreement that resulted in an increase in tensions at the border between the two countries in early August, according to the Euro News news station’s English-language report.

The channel cited a tweet from Josep Borrell on his Twitter account, in which he confirmed that, as part of the dialogue facilitated by the European Union, Kosovo has agreed not to present entry and exit documents to holders of Serbian identity cards, Serbia has agreed to cancel them, and both Serbia and Kosovo have agreed to do so. The European Union has received this assurance from Prime Minister Albin Corti.

Serbia will accept personal identity cards as identification for Kosovar citizens upon entry.
