Washington has violated the sovereignty of Damascus..Iran denies its connection to the targets America bombed in Syria

News from Al-Madina: According to Reuters, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani rejected any relation between Iran and locations bombed by the US in Syria on Wednesday, August 24, 2022.
On Tuesday, August 23, the US military said that it had carried out an attack in Deir Ezzor, Syria, targeting infrastructure sites utilised by Iranian Revolutionary Guards-affiliated organisations.

Kanani went on to say that the American onslaught on Syria’s infrastructure and people is a breach of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The sites that have been targeted have nothing to do with the Islamic Republic.
The strike comes as the US prepares to reply to a draught accord provided by the European Union that would restore the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran, which former President Donald Trump abandoned and which current President Joe Biden is attempting to resurrect.

According to the Army Central Command, such operations are intended to defend US personnel against assaults by Iranian-backed militants.
There were no injuries in one such event on August 15, according to Reuters, which featured a drone strike on a base managed by the coalition and US-backed Syrian opposition forces.
According to US military spokesperson Colonel Joe Puccino, the president directed this strike.

The strike was regarded by Central Command as a reasonable and planned step aimed at limiting the potential of escalation and minimising deaths.
The announcement on Tuesday’s US strike made no mention of deaths or whether it was carried out by manned or unmanned aircraft.

This is not the first time that US military planes have targeted Iranian-backed troops in Iraq and Syria; in June of last year, the US hit operations headquarters and weapons storage sites in two places in Syria and one in Iraq.
For the first time, US soldiers were deployed in Syria during former President Barack Obama’s battle against the Islamic State, in collaboration with the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces.

Approximately 900 US troops are stationed in Syria, the most of whom are in the east.
Meanwhile, during the Syrian civil war, Iranian-backed organisations developed a foothold in Syria by fighting in favour of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Damascus’ sovereignty has been invaded by Washington. Iran denies any involvement in the Syrian sites targeted by the US.
