Iran: We have nothing to do with the US targets in Syria

Washington targeted the websites of organisations connected to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard after Tehran denied its involvement in the strikes in Deir Ezzor, eastern Syria.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani stated on Wednesday that we have no relation to the Syrian installations that the United States has struck.
According to AFP, he also stated that Syria’s territorial integrity and sovereignty had been violated by the US strikes.

He emphasised that the US military’s initial plan was to attack 11 of the compound’s 13 hideouts, but it withdrew when groups of people were spotted nearby, and he added that the early evaluation suggested no one was killed in the operation.

It is noteworthy that the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, which stretches between the cities of Al-Bukamal and Al-Mayadin, is under Iranian influence thanks to organisations loyal to Tehran that are fighting alongside the Syrian regime forces. These organisations include members of the Lebanese Hezbollah and Afghans from the Fatemiyoun Brigade.

According to some analysts, there are 15,000 fighters from Iran-aligned militias in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan in Deir ez-Zor alone, notably in the region that runs between Albukamal and Deir ez-Zor and passes via al-Mayadin.

Iran: The US objectives in Syria have nothing to do with us.
