How does Mark Zuckerberg make himself look bad because of the Metaverse image?

According to TechCrunch, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg was teased after releasing a photo with a graphic style inspired by the Metaverse universe presenting him in an immature and low-resolution manner.
To honour the launch of the Horizon Worlds virtual world platform in France and Spain, he posted a selfie near the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France.
The insults and criticism came from social media users, giving the impression that the Metaverse’s graphics would be dreadful.

Big improvements to Horizon and avatars are on the way, and I’ll be speaking more via Connect, Zuckerberg said on Instagram, which is also owned by Meta, in reference to the next developer conference.
I also recognise that the photo I posted earlier this week was fairly poor; it was shot really quickly to celebrate the launch, Zuckerberg stated in response to the outpouring of scorn over the photo he had posted.

The CEO of Meta, the most outspoken supporter of the Metaverse concept, answered with another avatar and a detailed antique-looking caf.

Mark Zuckerberg, how can you make yourself appear awful because of the Metaverse image?
