According to data from the US Department of Energy, crude oil stockpiles in the US Strategic Petroleum Reserve dropped by 8. 1 million barrels in the week ending August 19.
According to the report, crude stocks in emergency reserves fell to 453. 1 million barrels, the lowest level since January 1985.
Furthermore, the 8. 1 million barrels taken from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve are the biggest since the end of April.
