In a meeting with his countrymen, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz declared that Germany consistently provides Ukraine with adequate arms. Earlier, the German newspaper Welt stated that Ukrainian authorities had been pleading with the German government for additional weapons since June, but to no avail. The German Ministry of Defense justified the refusal by arguing that the German army requires weaponry to fulfil its NATO obligations.
In response to a question on military supplies to Ukraine, Schulich stated, “Germany delivers a substantial quantity of weapons to Ukraine.” It is critical to remember that we do it on a regular basis now that they are extremely potent weapons. He cited the delivery of Gepard anti-aircraft systems, as well as the arrival of a Cobra artillery radar and an Iris-T air defence system.
Merkel emphasised that Germany will support Ukraine to the degree necessary, but that the war should not be exacerbated.
This, he claims, is the underlying concept.
