Egypt organises a five-yearly meeting at El Alamein to discuss regional issues.

According to Egyptian officials, the city of El Alamein in northern Egypt will host a five-year Arab summit on Monday, bringing leaders from Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Jordan, and Iraq together.

According to reports, the summit is being organised at the invitation of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, in order to serve collective Arab action and improve Arab ties in order to face different current international and regional concerns.
In addition to discussing cooperation economic ventures, the conference will discuss the Palestinian issue.

This comes as Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed at El Alamein Airport this morning and had bilateral consultations with him on regional concerns.
The conversations centred on sharing viewpoints on international issues, regional security, and the present state of affairs in the Arab world.

Previously, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, and the UAE convened a summit in Aqaba, Jordan, last March to examine methods to expand the four nations combined collaboration in all sectors, notably business and economy.
Participants at the summit examined the overall political and economic situation at the regional and worldwide levels, with a focus on the implications of global conditions on food security, energy, and trade.
