The Israelis are not “completely” comforted by Washington’s guarantees concerning the Iran nuclear deal, according to a report.

The Hebrew media said that Washington informed Israel that it would not concede to Iran’s nuclear ambitions and that a new agreement concerning Iran’s uranium enrichment programme would not be announced soon.
The US administration of US President Joe Biden reportedly made an effort to calm Israeli authorities by reiterating that Washington still maintains its categorical position that Iran should not develop nuclear weapons, according to Walla News.

Israeli officials reportedly did not feel completely reassured by their American counterparts’ assurances because they view the 2015 agreement—which was suspended after the Trump administration announced its unilateral withdrawal from it in 2018—as a very lenient deal towards the Islamic Republic and view Iran’s nuclear programme as an existential threat.

There has reportedly been progress between the two sides because Iran reportedly withdrew its demand that the American government remove the Revolutionary Guards from its list of terrorist organisations. Iran also reportedly refuted CNN’s claim that Tehran had reneged on its demands regarding the Revolutionary Guards.

According to a source, despite Washington’s assurances over the Iran nuclear deal, the Israelis are not “totally” reassured.
