Egypt is holding a mini-Arab summit.

Cairo/Amman Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, and Bahrain are set to attend a mini-Arab summit in Cairo. This event takes place around a month after Saudi Arabia hosted an Arab-American summit with US President Joe Biden and a group of Arab leaders.

An Egyptian-Jordanian-Bahraini summit was convened in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, roughly three weeks before the Arab-American summit, with the purpose of strengthening united Arab action in view of the tremendous difficulties emerging from diverse regional and international developments.

The meeting between Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, Bahrain’s King, and Jordan’s monarch took place on the same day that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman visited Egypt, Jordan, and Turkey.
The President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, came in Egypt on Sunday morning and met with his Egyptian counterpart, Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, at the new city of El Alamein airport.

According to the Egyptian Presidency’s official spokeswoman, the two presidents met to share their thoughts on global issues, regional security, and the current situation in the Arab world.
He went on to emphasise the importance of developing united Arab action and Arab solidarity in facing the difficulties affecting the Arab region.

During the meeting, Egyptian and Emirati leaders discussed bilateral cooperation tracks and the many promising opportunities to broaden its horizons and strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries, particularly in the economic and development fields that support their aspirations for sustainable development, progress, and prosperity for their two brotherly countries, according to the Egyptian and Emirati leaders.

The next summit, according to Egyptian media, would focus on current regional developments, notably the repercussions of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict on the Arab region, the Palestinian cause, the political situation in Iraq, Yemen, and Libya, and the matter of the Renaissance Dams’ third filling.
After been postponed three times, Algeria is set to host a long-awaited Arab summit in early November (2020, 2021 and March 2022).

During his visit to Algeria at the end of June, League of Arab States Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit noted that Algeria is making substantial preparations for the next Arab summit.
