EasyJet pilots in Spain go on strike, causing flights to be canceled.

According to union officials, 14 international flights were cancelled on Friday as EasyJet pilots began a three-day strike to demand the restoration of working standards prior to the pandemic.
The easyjet pilots’ strike, which comes during the peak of the summer tourist season, adds to the sector’s woes, which have already included strikes by flight crews at rival airline Ryanair, which began in June and will extend through January.

Six of the cancelled easyjet flights were scheduled to or from Barcelona, while the remaining eight were scheduled to or from Palma de Mallorca in the Balearic Islands.
According to the union, the disagreement covers international flights to and from Geneva, Milan, Paris, London, or Basel.
Easyjet pilots went on strike for the first time on August 12, cancelling 36 flights to and from Barcelona, Malaga, and the Balearic Islands.

The strike is scheduled for August 27-29.
The strike began just two weeks before the airlines’ flight crews went on strike, resulting in an agreement.
The pilots are asking for the restoration of their pre-pandemic working conditions, as well as the resumption of negotiations for a new comprehensive agreement.

During the epidemic, the pilots agreed to lower pay to protect not just our jobs, but also the firm’s resilience in Spain, the union stated on August 12, citing EasyJet’s unwillingness to reestablish pre-Covid working conditions.
So far, Ryanair’s staff strikes have had minimal impact, resulting in more delays than cancellations.

According to the company’s employees union, air crews of Iberia Express, the low-cost subsidiary of national airline Iberia, will go on strike for 10 days from August 28 to September 6.
