Switzerland’s electricity prices are predicted to jump by 30 next year.

According to a reported estimate, the average cost of electricity for Swiss families would rise by over 30 percent by 2023.
According to a Swiss Electricity Association official, half of the enterprises will increase home expenses by 30 percent or more.

As in all of Europe, energy prices are rising in Switzerland due to limited natural gas supplies following the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine, but the price shock is less severe than in neighbouring countries since hydroelectric and nuclear power provide the bulk of electricity.
According to Bloomberg News, which cited the newspaper, electricity bills for families living in a five-room flat would climb by almost 315 Swiss francs ($328. 39) each year.

Large bakeries, for example, will notice an increase in energy costs of roughly 10,000 francs.
If operators agree to the increased pricing, the specifics of the price hikes will be disclosed at the end of the month. The Swiss government just announced a 10 billion franc bailout plan to save Swiss electricity companies from going bankrupt.
