Azizi told RIA Novosti, Afghanistan presently requires more than 4 million tons of oil. We get our oil from neighboring nations, but we’d like to boost our imports. And because Russia is a friend of ours, we came here to achieve a deal on Russian oil and petroleum goods delivery.

We intend to deliver around one million tons of gasoline and the same quantity of diesel (from Russia). The agreement must take into account the interests of both parties. We want to get this deal because it is a critical time and this subject is one of our country’s top concerns, he continued. as quickly as possible.

In answer to a journalist’s query regarding whether this document may be signed this year, he said, Yes, this year.
