According to the Japanese coast guard, a Japanese chemical tanker collided with a cargo ship off the coast of southwest Japan on Saturday.
There were no injuries among the six Japanese crew members on board the tanker (Roshin Maru) or the 14 Chinese on board the cargo ship (Shin Hai 99).
According to a Koshimoto coast guard officer, the early Saturday incident is being examined. The two ships docked in the region, around 3. 5 kilometres off the coast of Wakayama Prefecture.

The Chinese crew warned the Coast Guard that the tanker had suddenly veered towards them, according to the official.
