In the early hours of Friday morning, the Civil Defense Forces in Giza doused a fire that broke out within the Church of the Virgin Mary and the Martyr Abanoub, in the Al-Barajil region, within the Osim Center, north of the governorate, with no injuries. Major General Hisham Abu Al-Nasr, the first assistant minister of the interior for the Giza Security Sector, was notified.
The Giza General Administration of Civil Protection got a signal from the Emergency Police Department, indicating that substantial smoke and flames were rising from within the aforementioned church.
In turn, Major General Jaber Bahaa, Director of Civil Protection in Giza, urged the civil defence troops, who were aided by fire engines, to encircle the flames and suppress the fire without damaging anybody. Major General Sameh Al-Hamaili Hakdar notified Giza.
Urgent.. A fire was quenched at Al-Church Barajeel’s of the Virgin Mary and the Martyr Abanoub.
