The gas pipeline between Greece and Bulgaria will be operational in October of next year.

After delays owing to administrative concerns, Bulgarian Energy Minister Rosin Hristov informed reporters that the gas pipeline between Greece and Bulgaria will begin operations next October.
According to Bloomberg, the minister indicated that the Bulgarian government has detected interest in liquefied natural gas bids and that the country would be able to secure gas by the end of October at the absolute least.

Hristov added that he intends to complete discussions with Azerbaijan and Turkey on winter gas supply guarantees by the end of next August.
He stated that if supplies are insufficient, the government may start talks with Russia’s Gazprom, as the current agreement expires at the end of the year.
