CAIRO, 18 AUGUST 2022: On Friday morning, a bus collided with a truck in Minya, Upper Egypt, killing six passengers and wounding 22 others, according to local reports.
The injured, all of whom were from southern Egypt, were brought to the hospital after ambulances arrived at the scene.
Initial investigations indicate that a bus travelling from Luxor to Cairo with about 50 people was struck by a truck carrying bricks.

Last month, a truck and a bus collided on the Cairo-Assiut Road in Upper Egypt, leaving 30 people injured and 23 dead.
Another fatal accident happened in Upper Egypt earlier in July when a bus and a truck crashed on the Aswan-Abu Simbel Road, leaving nine people dead and 44 others injured.
More than 20 ambulances were sent by the Aswan governorate’s health department to the scene, and the injured were then brought to a hospital for treatment.

Two more persons were killed and eight others were hurt in an automobile accident that occurred on the Edfu-Marsa Alam Road in Aswan last month.
This occurs at a time when government efforts to modernise the nation’s road system have led to a decline in the frequency of traffic accidents in Egypt in recent years.
Egypt saw a drop in road accident injuries and fatalities of about 29% and 9%, respectively, from 2019 to 2020, according to the statistical agency (CAPMAS).
