CAIRO, 18 August 2022: On the occasion of India’s 75th anniversary of independence, the Indian Embassy in Cairo released a report on the two countries’ ties on Thursday.
According to the embassy, a large Indian delegation will attend COP 27 in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, from November 7 to November 18. The India on the Nile Banks event, on the other hand, will be held this October.

According to the embassy, Egypt’s hosting of COP 27 highlights Egypt’s ability to play an important role in global issues.
According to the report, Egypt purchased 50,000 doses of anti-COVID-19 vaccine from India, while India purchased 300,000 doses of the anti-viral from Egypt. In addition, Egypt despatched three planes carrying medical supplies to India in May 2021.
In terms of trade exchange, it climbed by 75 percent between 2021 and 2022, reaching a high of $7.

26 billion dollars Furthermore, 50 Indian enterprises operate in Egypt, with a total investment of $3.15 billion and 38,000 employees. Among them are clothing, agriculture, chemicals, energy, automobiles, and retail.
The embassy emphasised that these companies want to spend an additional $700 million in Egypt, mostly in green hydrogen and green ammonia projects. One example is the $8 billion MoU signed by the Egyptian government with India’s Renew-Power.
