UK encourages leaders in Kenya to follow existing dispute resolution mechanisms

The United Kingdom has urged all political parties and leaders in Kenya to use all available dispute resolution channels, as outlined in the Kenyan Constitution.
The British Embassy in Kenya noted in a statement released on the British government’s website that Kenya set an example for the region and the continent as a whole.

The Embassy praised Kenyans’ calm and tranquillity throughout the recent presidential elections, as well as the good contributions performed by civil society, business, and the security sector. According to the statement, the UK urged all parties to maintain the spirit of peace in the coming weeks.
The results of Kenya’s presidential elections and the triumph of William Ruto in the presidency were revealed yesterday by the head of the Independent Commission for Elections and Borders.

The United Kingdom encourages Kenyan politicians to use current conflict settlement procedures.
