The Israeli army reports that a soldier was killed by friendly fire in Tulkarm.

An Israeli soldier was shot and killed on Monday in the occupied West Bank neighbourhood of Tulkarm by one of his buddies.
The army announced in a statement that it has started an investigation into the facts behind this extraordinary incidence.

The Israeli soldier was transferred after being hurt to Meir Hospital in the city of Kafr Saba in central Israel for treatment, and his death was later announced. The Israeli army initially stated before midnight that the talk was about a shooting operation, but it was later revealed that it was an incident related to friendly fire.

Early investigations led to the conclusion that a soldier who was in the same area as the victim soldier when he departed accidentally fired at him when he returned to the scene because the other soldier wasn’t suspicious of him, firing two bullets at him.
Other nearby locations that heard and reported the gunfire believed it to be hostile fire, but upon closer inspection, I realised this was not the case and eliminated this possibility.

It is noteworthy that the Hamas movement praised last night’s “quality Tulkarm operation” before the Israeli army emphasised that the problem was friendly fire rather than gunfire.

According to the Israeli army, friendly fire in Tulkarm claimed the life of a soldier.
