Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz met with senior military and security officials on Monday to assess the ceasefire deal reached between Israel and the Islamic Jihad movement.
According to Gantz’s office, the latter expressed his great appreciation for the Israeli army and the Shin Bet security service during the meeting, noting that the defence minister directed the security forces to maintain operational readiness in all fields and work to benefit from the operation’s achievements to achieve stability and peace.
According to the statement, Gantz directed authorities to form a task group to strengthen fortifications in southern Israeli communities, particularly those near the Gaza border.
