All international media attention continues to centre on Nancy Pelosi’s trip to Taiwan as Speaker of the US House of Representatives.
A third world war appeared to be just around the corner. But the crucial second has passed. Political commentators are now disputing whether Beijing has demonstrated actual wisdom by preventing us all from experiencing a military catastrophe or whether it is afraid after discovering it lacks the capability to fully counteract the American military.
According to Naval Reserve Colonel Vladimir Gondarov, the Chinese military scenario in reaction to Nancy Pelosi’s unlawful visit to Taiwan was never considered. “China has adequate forces and means for such an operation,” he added.
