A young Nigerian was killed in broad daylight in the centre of Civitanova Marche, Italy, after being severely beaten in full front of spectators by a white guy.
The incident in Civitanova Marches’ main centre was filmed last Friday in Italy. The victim is shown laying on the ground as a white man runs over him and hits him, with no attempt to help made by passers-by who were standing close to watch what was going on.
Filippo Claudio Giuseppe Ferlazzo pummelling to death Alika Ogorshochou, a married man and father of two, in Civitanova Marche’s bustling city centre. The harrowing video was quickly shared on Italian news websites and social media, shocking society and emphasising witnesses’ apathy.
According to the media, the deceased’s wife fell in tears when telling about her husband and how she found his dead on the ground; Italian parliamentarians also condemned the crime.
The events were termed as awful by Enrico Letta, the leader of the Left Democratic Party. There must be a cause for such widespread disinterest, he tweeted. The right-wing leader, Matteo Salvini, also expressed his indignation at the incident, saying that security has no colour and must exist.
